Description
Friday 21 April at 5 pm inauguration of the exhibition “Segni-materiali-fonemi” dedicated to Carlo Pace (Alessandria 1937-2011) one of the most eclectic artists from Alessandria and a great master of the late 20th century.

About forty works on show and ideally divided into three well-highlighted routes representing the three key moments in the art of Carlo Pace: the 1950s with the first works of the Informal, the 1970s, period of Arte Povera, in which he dedicated himself to the production of the famous backbones and finally, painting with phonemes, not just paintings but audio-visual poetry.
Through this series of works, it will be possible to make an original reflection on the history of art in the late 20th century and above all on an artist, Carlo Pace, who unlike other masters, remained outside the great exhibition circuits, paying in his lifetime for his coherence and resistance to the rules of the civilisation of show business.

A challenge, of dedicating an exhibition to an artist considered “unconventional”, who produced gigantic work, consisting in thousands of works to demonstrate an untiring activity, always original, never occasional and repetitive and, at the same time, an opportunity for learning and knowledge for all those who love culture and for students to which a privileged path will be
dedicated.
