Business description

Via(e) is a way of understanding the discovery of a vast territory, which cannot be enclosed within precise territorial borders. The ancient roman roads become a cue to talk about facts, people and curiosities of those places connected by ancient roads: roads that unite and intertwine in synergies, officially tracked routes and routes travelled by habit, convenience or even because less visible, but, in any case, movements of people, goods and words spoken, often, in different languages.

A “sweet” and “slow” way to tell about places but also tangible tourist packages to experience them in person, through the experiences we can offer thanks to the professionalism of our operators.

DAY 1: The Abbey of Sezzadio

•               Tour dedicated to the Romanesque starts with an independent visit to the Abbey of Santa Giustina in Sezzadio dating to the 11th century.

•               At the end of the visit depart for Cunico and arrive in a charming family-run wine agriturismo that produces organic wines. An 18th century farmhouse immersed among the panoramic hills of Monferrato.

•               After check in, guided tasting of the wines produced.

•               Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation.

DAY 2: Tour of Romanesque Monferrato

•               9 am departure with guide to discover the “Romanesque Monferrato”. The first stops of the day are on the way towards Castelnuovo Don Bosco to visit the two Romanesque churches: the Church of Sant’Eusebio and the Church of Santa Maria di Cornaredo.

•               The route continues towards the Abbey of Vezzolano.

•               Lunch at leisure.

•               In the early afternoon visit to the Romanesque church of San Lorenzo in Montiglio Monferrato. The Romanesque tour in Monferrato has as last stage Cortazzone for the visit of San Secondo located on a hill, whose name reminds of a holy place even before Christianity: Mongiglietto (from the Latin Mons Jovis, mount of Jupiter or Mons Iubili).

•               The day ends in a location inside a farmhouse of the 16th century surrounded by vineyards. An elegant environment with breathtaking view and large garden and a winery inside which produces excellent local wines. Visit to the winery and tasting in relaxation to enjoy the tranquillity of this unique place.

•               Dinner at leisure.

•               Overnight accommodation.

DAY 3 - Tiglieto and Camogli

•              Breakfast and check out and departure for Liguria.

•              Arriving in Liguria from the Stura Valley, we recommend making a detour to reach the town of Tiglieto. Here, in a magnificent bucolic setting, it is possible to admire the Badia founded in 1120. It was the first Cistercian Abbey built outside French borders. A short distance away is the ancient Romanesque bridge that crosses the Orba torrent.

•               In the afternoon, arrival in Camogli. Free time to make a self-guided visit and for an aperitif accompanied by the famous focaccia Ligure.

•               Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation in hotel.

DAY 4: Camogli and San Fruttuoso

•               Breakfast in hotel.

•               Appointment with the guide in Camogli. From here, you will reach the hamlet of San Rocco by own means or on foot along an uphill creuza (narrow street). The route will begin that reaches to the thousand-year old Church of San Nicolò di Capodimonte.

•               Continue on, until you reach Porto Pidocchio/Punta Chiappa.

•               Transfer by boat to San Fruttuoso, ancient sailing village dominated by the age-old abbey, today guarded and managed by FAI. Entrance and visit to the Thousand-year-old Abbey of San Fruttuoso.

•               Lunch at leisure

•               Return by boat to Camogli.

•               Dinner at leisure and overnight accommodation in hotel.

DAY 5: Cogorno and Borzone

•               Breakfast and check out.

•               From Camogli, transfer to Cogorno to visit another Gothic-Romanesque architectural jewel of Liguria: the magnificent Basilica dei Fieschi, built in the early 1200s by the Genoese noble family of Fieschi at the entrance to the valley of Fontanabuona.

•               From here, climb up the valley to reach Borzone and discover the fascinating abbey of S. Andrea di Borzone, one of the less known but among the more remarkable architectural emergences of Liguria, surrounded by the green mountains of the Aveto Natural Regional Park.
