Restoration of the Debain Harmonium - Conference and concert
13 September 2020
Presentation of the Restoration of the Debain Harmonium, located in the choir of the Convent Church of San Michele Arcangelo. The Debain Harmonium (the brand takes its name from Alexandre François Debain 6 July 1809 - 3 December 1877 - who developed and patented the construction of the Harmonium in his Parisian atelier), located in the choir of the Church, is a very rare and precious example of an organ. It dates to 1860 approximately, was made in Paris and a probable gift of the Duchess of Galliera. The instrument is due to undergo conservative restoration work by Ditta Marzi, costruzioni e restauro Organi in Verona. An account of this work will be given at the event programmed for September 2020 that will also involve a Baroque music concert using this instrument.
The conference is one of the events of the year dedicated to the Baroque period in the Piedmont region (for the complete list of events and locations: www.visitpiemonte.com/it/arte-e-cultura/lessenziale-e-barocco/calendario-appuntamenti).
