Hike to mining site M13
On Saturday 15 June, the Organisation in charge of the Piedmont Apennines Protected Areas will unveil the mining sites M1 and M3 to the public. They are located respectively in Lavagnina and Ferriere, in the territory of the Capanne di Macarolo Natural Park. The event follows the completion of the safety works geared to their preservation and enhancement. DAY’S PROGRAMME: 9 am meeting at the Town Hall of Casaleggio Boiro; transfer by own vehicle to Cravaria, close to the Lakes of Lavagnina, and departure of the guided hike by the Park ranger with arrival at mining site M13 in Ferriere di Fondo, inside the protected Area. Packed lunch. At 11.30 am, guided geology and nature tour of the subterranean environment of mine M13. At 2.30 pm, departure from Ferriere di Fondo and return to Cravaria.
The number of participants is limited to 16 and booking is required. The participants will be divided into 2 groups. The cost is €10 per person; bookings must be made using the form available on the organisation’s website to firstname.lastname@example.org. Payment must be made to organisation staff at the meeting point, before the excursion begins. The application forms (first come first served basis) must arrive no later than 12 pm on Thursday 13 June 2019. Participants must be equipped with rubber boots to access the mine. The Organisation provides the safety equipment (helmet with headlamp and technical waistcoat).
